Bulcote Farm & The Neighbourhood Plan

Many thanks to all those who have taken the time and trouble to return the Neighbourhood Plan Questionnaire and the letters of objection to the Bulcote Farm Development. The response has been very encouraging and greatly appreciated. For anyone who has not returned the questionnaire you still have until the end of the month to respond. The current funding for the creation of Neighbourhood Plans will shortly end, but the Government have pledged to continue to support this initiative and a new round of funding will commence on or before 1st April 2018. Carriageway resurfacing works are planned along the A612 from 19:00 hours on Sunday 18th March 2018 to 06:00 hours on Sunday 25th March 2018. It has been confirmed that this will be an overnight closure only from 7:00 pm to 6:00 am. Click here for further details.


The Parish Council have been advised that the current proposals have been rejected by Newark and Sherwood DC planners and the applicants have been asked to re-submit proposals that are more in keeping with the area i.e. two storey detached blocks


Following a complaint by a resident as to the condition of two waste bins on opposite sides of the junction of Old Main Road and Nottingham Road. These have now been replaced.


A revised planning application has been submitted to Newark & Sherwood District Council for an additional 16 new dwellings to form part of the Enabling Development allegedly required in order to renovate and convert the existing farm buildings. Whilst the Parish Council support the renovation of the existing farm buildings they propose to object to the extensive enabling development. The Council's objections can be viewed here. The Parish Council will shortly undertake a mail drop to all properties within the Parish to encourage residents to object to the proposals.
